A ground leakage relay is a microprocessor-based electronic protection device designed to detect low-level leakage or unstable currents due to insulation loss on conductors or equipment to be protected. For measuring leakage currents, ring-type current transformers FRER cod.TDC series or detachable type TDA series are used. All circuit conductors to be protected must pass through the toroidal ring. (3-Phase + Neutral) The microprocessor performs various functions, including:

• Trip current setting divided into 3 ranges: 30÷300 mA, 300 mA÷3 A, 3÷30 A
• Instantaneous trip delay time setting divided into 2 ranges: Instantaneous (inst.)÷0.5 sec, 0.2÷5 sec

• Reversible type trip relay. Na+NK

• Output relay test (Trip)

• Manual (local or remote) or programmable automatic reset.

• Continuous monitoring of the cable connection between the relay and the CT: In case of cable breakage or disconnection, the output relays will be activated and the circuit power will be automatically cut off.

The wide current range allows for easy selection of precise trip current values ​​to keep the touch voltage below 50V, as required by the CEI 64-8 standard. Thanks to its internal filtering, the relay is unaffected by external interference. Its functionality is also guaranteed with alternating sinusoidal and continuously pulsating differential currents applied suddenly or gradually increasing (Type A).
